Let performers Bethany Edwards and Tess Letham take you on a journey ripe for the unexpected in this entirely improvised work unfolding across two solos and a duet.

Responding to the idiosyncrasies of every audience each iteration of Three Acts will be radically different. The performers work interactively with the audience who’s input shapes the content and material, their ideas transformed, in real time, into dance, text, and character. By turns dark, funny, touching, and surreal. The performance skilfully weaves improvised voice and movement, traversing the worlds of contemporary dance, comedy, physical theatre, and storytelling. Audiences can enjoy the unique characters and absurd situations that arise.

This show rests on the knowledge that we are all in this together, performer and audience, in the creation and experience of something that will and could only ever exist here and now.

Bethany Edwards is a dance and physical theatre artist whose practice spans performing, devising, improvisation, creative facilitation and teaching. She has created new work with choreographers and companies including Wired Aerial Theatre, Becky Namgauds, Tim Casson and Tess Letham, touring internationally across a wide range of contexts—from nightclubs and galleries to stately homes and large-scale outdoor stages.

A founding member of bad body chaos code, a non-hierarchical pop-punk band, Bethany creates euphoric, surreal, riot grrrl-inspired live performances supported by organisations including Arts Council England, The Place, Brainchild Festival, Hidden Door, Stadt/Kanton Bern and the V&A. Improvisation sits at the core of her practice, where she weaves movement and voice to create spontaneous performances in both solo and ensemble settings. Her work is driven by a strong conceptual foundation, exploring the body as storyteller while embracing collaboration, interdisciplinarity, and the interplay between movement and language.
